The Werewolf's Curse: Transformation Night
The Werewolf's Curse: Transformation Night
Daniel Blackwood had always feared the full moon. Ever since the accident in the dark woods of Ravenshire, he knew something was wrong with him. Something monstrous.
Tonight, the moon hung full and golden in the sky, casting eerie shadows across the quiet town. Daniel could feel it—the pull, the fire in his veins. His body ached, his skin burned, and his heartbeat pounded in his ears like a war drum.
"Not again…" he whispered, gripping the edge of the bathroom sink, his knuckles turning white.
The Warning
His best friend, Ethan, knocked on the door. "Daniel, you okay in there?"
Daniel clenched his jaw. "You need to go, Ethan. Now."
"Come on, man. It’s just a full moon. What’s the big deal?" Ethan chuckled.
Daniel closed his eyes, breathing heavily. He wanted to tell Ethan the truth, but who would believe him? That a wolf-like creature had bitten him in the woods a month ago, and ever since, he hadn’t been the same.
"Just leave!" Daniel shouted, gripping his head as pain seared through his skull.
Silence. Then Ethan’s hesitant voice. "Alright… but call me if you need anything, okay?"
The sound of the front door closing echoed in Daniel’s ears. He exhaled sharply. He needed to get out—away from people, away from town.
The Transformation Begins
Daniel ran into the forest, his breath coming in ragged gasps. His body felt like it was being torn apart from the inside. His fingers curled, nails sharpening into claws. His spine stretched, muscles twisting, reshaping.
He let out a strangled scream as his jaw cracked and extended. His teeth grew sharp, his senses heightened. He could hear every rustling leaf, smell the damp earth, feel the wind against his thickening fur.
Then, silence.
His breathing slowed. His mind, once filled with human thoughts, now swam in primal instinct.
The beast had taken over.
The Hunt
Deep in the woods, the transformed Daniel stalked through the trees, his glowing amber eyes scanning for movement. The scent of something familiar caught his nose—human.
His ears perked at the sound of footsteps crunching leaves. A young woman, unaware of the danger, walked along the trail.
His instincts screamed to chase, to hunt, but somewhere deep inside, his human soul fought back.
"No…" he growled, shaking his massive head.
The woman turned, her eyes widening in terror. "W-What is that?"
Daniel took a step back. Run, he told her in his mind. But the words wouldn’t come.
Then, a low growl echoed behind him.
The Other Werewolf
Daniel turned just in time to see another beast leap at him. They tumbled through the underbrush, snapping and clawing at each other.
"This is what you are now, Blackwood!" the creature snarled, its voice distorted yet familiar.
Daniel’s mind struggled to place it. "Who… are you?"
The beast pinned him down, yellow eyes gleaming. "You don’t remember? It was my bite that cursed you."
Realization hit Daniel like a thunderbolt. The werewolf that had attacked him weeks ago—it had come back.
"I won’t be like you," Daniel growled, shoving the beast off and standing tall.
The Fight for Control
The werewolf lunged again, but Daniel was ready this time. He dodged, using his newfound strength to slam his opponent into a tree.
"You can’t fight what you are!" the werewolf spat.
Daniel’s heart pounded. Was that true? Was he doomed to be a monster forever?
No. He still had a choice.
Summoning all his willpower, he fought against the beast inside him, focusing on his humanity. The pain returned—his bones shifted, his claws retracted.
The other werewolf watched in disbelief. "Impossible…"
Daniel, now back in his human form, took a deep breath. "I am not just a monster."
The Aftermath
The other werewolf snarled but hesitated, seeing Daniel’s transformation. It let out a low growl before retreating into the darkness.
Daniel collapsed to the ground, exhausted. The night had tested him, but he had managed to hold onto his humanity.
As the first light of dawn crept through the trees, he knew this was just the beginning. The curse still lived within him, waiting for the next full moon.
A New Ally
As he stumbled back toward town, Ethan was waiting for him on the porch.
"Daniel… what happened to you?"
Daniel hesitated before saying, "I have a secret, Ethan. And I don’t know how to control it."
Instead of fear, Ethan gave him a determined look. "Then let’s figure it out together."
For the first time in weeks, Daniel didn’t feel completely alone.
But the full moon would rise again.
