The Halloween Night's Curse: Halloween
The Halloween Night's Curse: Halloween
It was the night of October 31st, and the small town of Ravenswood was alive with the spirit of Halloween. Children dressed as ghosts and witches roamed the streets, collecting candy under the watchful eyes of their parents. But amidst the laughter and excitement, a dark legend loomed over the town—a legend about the Halloween Night's Curse.
"You ever heard of the curse?" Ethan asked as he adjusted his vampire cape. His friends, Lily and Jake, looked at him with curiosity.
"What curse?" Lily asked, stuffing a handful of candy into her pumpkin-shaped bucket.
"The Halloween Night's Curse," Ethan whispered. "They say that if you knock on the old Holloway house at midnight, you'll disappear forever."
Jake scoffed. "That's just an old story. No one lives there anymore. It's abandoned. Nothing's going to happen."
"Then let's do it," Ethan challenged. "Let's prove it's just a myth."
Lily hesitated. "I don’t know, guys. What if it’s true?"
"Come on, Lily. Don’t be a scaredy-cat," Jake teased. "It's just an empty house."
Against her better judgment, Lily agreed. The three friends made their way through the darkened streets, their footsteps echoing as they approached the infamous Holloway house. It stood at the end of the road, its windows shattered, and its wooden frame rotting with age.
The air felt colder as they got closer. The streetlights flickered.
"Okay," Ethan said, swallowing hard. "Midnight. We knock, and then we leave."
The clock tower in the center of town began to chime. Midnight.
Ethan raised his fist and knocked three times.
Silence.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then, the door creaked open on its own.
"No way," Jake whispered, his bravado suddenly gone.
"Maybe we should go—" Lily started, but before she could finish, a strong gust of wind pushed them inside.
The door slammed shut behind them.
Darkness swallowed them whole.
"Guys?" Lily's voice trembled.
"I’m here," Ethan said, fumbling for his phone. He turned on the flashlight. The beam cut through the darkness, revealing dusty furniture covered in sheets, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, and deep scratches on the wooden floor.
"Let's get out of here," Jake said, pulling at the door. It wouldn’t budge.
Then, a whisper.
Low. Raspy.
"You shouldn't have come…"
The three friends froze.
"Who said that?" Ethan demanded, shining his light around the room.
The shadows shifted.
Something moved.
Suddenly, the flashlight flickered and went out.
Lily screamed.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the room—coming closer.
"Run!" Jake yelled.
They stumbled through the darkness, their hands grasping for anything to guide them. The whispers turned into laughter—cold, cruel laughter.
"You are part of the house now…" the voice hissed.
A door in front of them burst open, revealing a dimly lit hallway. Without thinking, they ran through it.
Suddenly, Lily tripped and fell. Ethan turned back to help her, but something was dragging her into the darkness.
"Help me!" she screamed.
Ethan grabbed her hands, pulling with all his strength. Jake joined in, and together they yanked Lily away just as shadowy fingers released her.
They ran.
Somehow, they found themselves in front of the same door they had entered through. It was open now, revealing the street outside.
They didn’t hesitate. They ran out, gasping for air as they collapsed on the sidewalk.
The house stood silent behind them.
The clock tower chimed once more. 12:01 AM.
The door slammed shut on its own.
They never spoke of that night again.
But every Halloween, when the clock strikes midnight, the Holloway house opens its door—waiting for new visitors to claim.
Days passed, but something was different. Lily couldn't sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, she heard the whispers.
"You belong to us…"
She woke up screaming.
"Lily, are you okay?" Ethan asked over the phone the next morning.
"No, I’m not okay! I keep hearing that voice. And I… I think I see something in my room at night."
Ethan and Jake decided they needed to go back. Maybe they had left something behind—something that connected them to the curse.
That night, they met outside the Holloway house once again. But this time, the door was already open.
"We shouldn’t be here," Jake whispered.
"We have to end this," Ethan said firmly.
They stepped inside.
The house seemed… alive. The walls pulsed like breathing flesh. The air was thick, suffocating.
"What do we do?" Lily asked.
A voice whispered in the air. "Stay forever…"
The shadows moved toward them, reaching out with claw-like hands.
"No!" Ethan shouted. "We don’t belong to you!"
Jake grabbed a rusted lantern from the floor and threw it. It shattered, flames bursting onto the wooden planks.
The house shrieked.
"Run!" Lily cried.
They sprinted toward the exit as fire engulfed the walls. Just as they crossed the threshold, the house let out one final, blood-curdling scream—and then collapsed into itself.
Silence.
The curse had been broken.
Or so they thought.
Months later, on another Halloween night, a new group of kids stood outside the ruins.
One of them knocked.
The whispers returned.
The Holloway house was never truly gone.
And the curse would live on forever.
